 Autism Healthcare Legislation

The SMART Foundation is committed to educating families, communities and legislatures about Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism includes both physical symptoms and cognitive challenges. Autism is treatable, and should be covered by health insurance. Coverage for the necessary diagnosis and early interventions can result in saving $9 out of every $10 dollars in long-term care costs. Below is a map of states currently with some for of Autism legislation passed or pending. Additional states, including Colorado are working to put forth their initial Autism Bills.
